At first glance, LG's KF510 isn't a particularly noteworthy device. Its feature-set includes meager tri-band GSM support, a decided lack of 3G, and a smallish battery (800 mAh, good for up to 4 hours of talk time).
There is one thing that the KF510 does well though, and that is personal style. The metallic casing, for one, is a mere 10.9 mm thin, with a ("scratch-proof") tempered glass face and what LG has chosen to call a "gapless rail support." That last is a slightly novel way of reinforcing the slide mechanism. The bottom line is that it's an impressive looking phone. But the real draw for the KF510 is the touch interface. No, the phone doesn't come with an iPhone-clone touch-screen - instead, LG opted to make the area below the screen into a panel that responds to touch (haptics included) and can light up on command. It's a cool feature because it can make for some highly interesting menu configurations, and it's what makes - or breaks - this phone. Unfortunately, the jury's still out on this one.
